The evolving publishing landscape

In this workshop, Dr. Vinson will discuss how science communication and the peer review process have evolved in the last few decades, novel initiatives developed by different groups to facilitate the process, and publishing in Science, and will also comment on research integrity and inclusivity issues.

Night science: the creative side of the scientific process

Itai Yanai
Professor, NYU School of Medicine, USA

In this workshop, Prof. Yanai will outline the newly developed course on the ‘Creative Scientific Process’, which he developed together with Martin Lercher, to generate novel hypotheses using improvisational discussions, interdisciplinarity, metaphorical language, questions from contradictions, puzzle-switching, and a general ‘bottom-up’ approach.
