Molecular Biosystems ConferenceTogether with the Chilean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SBBM) and the Genetics Society of America, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the "Molecular Biosystems" Conference on Eukaryotic Gene Regulation and Functional Genomics, to be held at the Cumbres Hotel in Puerto Varas, Región de Los Lagos, Chile.
The meeting will cover a wide variety of topics centered on eukaryotic gene expression, with a strong focus on global approaches for the study of gene regulation and function. This conference aims to bring together scientists from all over the world, at different stages of their scientific careers, to discuss recent advances in this active and fast-paced area of research. The first session will begin at 3 pm on Saturday, September 23 and the meeting will end at around 1 pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, right before the beginning of the 39th edition of the Annual Meeting of the Chilean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, which will also take place in Puerto Varas. Preliminary List of Topics Transcriptional Regulation & Genome Organization Epigenetics & Chromatin Genome-Scale & Integrative Biology Evolution Post-transcriptional Regulation Regulatory RNAs Developmental Networks & Cell Signaling Cancer Genomics Circadian Rhythms The program features six sessions devoted to oral presentations, together with two poster sessions. Some of the talks (~40 %) will be selected by the organizers from submitted abstracts. In addition, there will be two "Elevator Pitch" sessions, in which authors of poster presentations will have 3 minutes to present their work during a plenary session. This will be a small conference, limited to ~120 attendees, so researchers interested in attending this meeting, will have to apply and be selected by the organizers to attend. Preference will be given to those giving talks or presenting posters. We really hope to have as many young people as possible attend this meeting, particularly Chilean researchers. We have applied for funds to partially support graduate students and postdocs and we will post news about this on the site. Overall, the meeting will have a strong focus on networking and plenty of time will be allotted to off-session discussions. News regarding abstract submission and registration (including key dates) will be posted on this site.
