Getting to the conference

1) By Plane
The nearest airport is El Tepual (IATA code: PMC), located in the city of Puerto Montt. The airport is ~ 25 Km (16 miles) away from Puerto Varas.

Please note that international visitors will have a layover in Santiago, Chile's capital city (IATA code: SCL). Santiago International Airport has daily connections with all major airports worldwide.

There are frequent flights departing every day from Santiago to Puerto Montt (1hr 30min). Flights to PMC are served by both LATAM Airlines and Sky Airlines.  Sit on the left side for a chance to see volcanoes during the flight.

Please note that for international travelers, and while inconvenient, it may be cheaper to buy a round trip to Santiago, and a separate round trip ticket to Puerto Montt, than a single round trip from abroad to Puerto Montt. Please check different travel alternatives to find the best price.

From the airport, you can:

  • Take a shuttle, which can take you directly to any hotel in Puerto Varas. Your hotel should be able to book a shuttle for you. Booking at the airport may also be available.

  • Take a taxi (CLP $20.000/USD 30). The taxi will accommodate a maximum of 4 people. A taxi can be booked at a help desk located in the baggage claim area.

  • Uber. The Uber app is available in Chile.  The fare estimate from the airport to the conference venue is ~USD $10-15.

2) By Bus

Buses depart daily from Santiago to Puerto Varas. The trip takes about 13 hours.

3) By Car

Take Route 5 south from Santiago to Puerto Varas (1008 Km.).
