Accommodation Scam Alert
Please make your housing arrangements directly with your hotel of choice or through reputable booking services. We will never contact you to provide credit card details for any purpose, including booking your accommodation. Also, we have been alerted by a scam from travellerpoint(dot)org, which offer to book accommodation on your behalf. Please, ignore these emails and do not reply nor click on any link provided. You can also block the domain on your email client. We strongly urge prospective speakers to ignore all requests from any housing services and to carefully consider the above before sharing any details about their bank account. Any such request should be rejected. Suspicious communications purportedly from, for, or on behalf of the Molecular Biosystems Conference should be reported to us at molbiosystems[at]ibio.cl. Accommodation at the conference venue
The organizers have arranged for discounted hotel rooms at the conference venue, Cabaña del Lago hotel. The hotel includes single/double rooms, triple rooms, and cabins of various sizes, including some for up to 5 people. They all include breakfast and use of hotel facilities. Instructions for booking rooms with the negotiated rate will be posted soon. Housing Alternatives
Puerto Varas is a popular tourist destination, offering a wide range of accommodation options to suit different budgets and preferences. From boutique hotels and lakeside lodges, to cozy cabins and Airbnb rentals, you’ll find plenty of choices—many within walking distance of the conference venue. While the conference will take place at the Cabaña del Lago hotel, we encourage participants to stay at any hotel or housing alternative of their preference. Regardless of where you decide to stay, please note that lunch and dinner are included with your registration and will be served at the Cabaña del Lago hotel. As mentioned, Airbnb is very popular in the area, and many great properties are close to the conference venue. These may be a great alternative to hotels, particularly if you are sharing with others. In addition, please find below a non-exhaustive list (and an associated map) of some hotels and hostels in the area. Additional housing alternatives, including other hotels, cabins, and hostels, can be found here or by using online accommodation booking websites (e.g. Booking.com).
