Tour to the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park (included with registration)
All conference attendees are invited to participate of the conference trip to the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. The trip has no additional cost for registered attendees, so everyone is encouraged to attend! Light to moderate rain is frequent, so please bring adequate rain gear and warm clothing. We also recommend wearing comfortable shoes. The Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park is the oldest national park in Chile, established in 1926. The park is part of the UNESCO "Bosques Templados Lluviosos de Los Andes Australes" Biosphere reserve, one of the largest and most ecologically intact protected areas on Earth. We will leave the hotel after lunch. Once we get to the park, we will start our trip with a light trail at "Saltos del Petrohué", a rushing, frothing waterfall raging through a narrow volcanic rock canyon carved by lava, featuring thundering turquoise waters. We will then go to the "Todos Los Santos" lake, where we will take a catamaran tour and enjoy the beautiful scenery. |
We will then drive back to the hotel, for dinner. |
